History of Jungle

History of Jungle Cardiff 2026 Review | Bassrate
History of Jungle rolled into Cardiff this September and delivered exactly what the crowd came for… heavyweight jungle, big basslines and a proper old-school rave atmosphere.

Entry & Security ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Getting into the venue was quick and hassle-free. Security were friendly throughout, with the usual bag searches and pat downs carried out professionally and efficiently. No unnecessary delays, which meant more time spent enjoying the event and less time standing around outside.

Venue ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
The DEPOT Cardiff is a large venue and worked really well for an event of this scale. The main room was set out nicely with plenty of space to move around, and the high stage meant you got a great view of the DJs and MCs from almost anywhere in the venue.
The bar was positioned at the rear of the hall and there was also a decent seating area that gave ravers somewhere to take a breather, have a chat and meet fellow junglists throughout the night.

Sound System ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
When we first arrived, the sound was a little quieter than expected, but it gradually got turned up as the night progressed. By the time the event was in full flow, the system was delivering exactly what you’d expect from a jungle rave.
As an old-school raver, I even had to put my Loop earplugs in for about an hour to give my ears a bit of a rest, which tells you everything you need to know about the bass levels once things got going!
The system was well tuned, with solid low-end weight, punchy mids and clear highs. Jungle needs bass, and that’s exactly what we got.

Line-up ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The line-up was stacked from top to bottom. Legends such as Rap, Aphrodite and Brockie were just a few of the names keeping the energy high throughout the night. Every set brought something different while staying true to the jungle roots that History of Jungle is known for.

Crowd & Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One thing that really stood out was the crowd. Cardiff knows its jungle music and the atmosphere reflected that all night long. The dancefloor was packed with passionate ravers who were there for the music, creating an electric but friendly vibe from start to finish.
Everyone seemed up for a good time and there was plenty of opportunity to chat with like-minded people in the seating areas between sets.
The Only Downside ⭐⭐⭐☆☆
The biggest issue of the night was the bar once the venue filled up. Around 8pm onwards it became pretty chaotic and getting served could take a while during peak periods. Thankfully the toilet queues were nowhere near as bad, which is always a bonus at a busy rave.
Overall
History of Jungle Cardiff delivered exactly what it promised: a massive line-up, quality sound system, friendly crowd and an authentic jungle atmosphere. Apart from the bar queues during busy periods, it was a fantastic night and one I’ll definitely be returning to next year.
